Christian DeBenedetti has been writing about beer since 1996,when he was awarded the Thomas J. Watson Foundation Fellowship as a post-graduate to study ancient brewing techniques in Europe and West Africa. He is a well-known food, drink, and travel writer, with articles have appearing in The NewYork Times, Food & Wine, National Geographic Adventure, Saveur, and other publications. He has organized and coauthored a craft beer appraisal in Men’s Journal since 2004,and is regularly invited to speak about beer at venues like the Explorer’s Club and the National Craft Brewer’s Conference. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
